In the year since the Taliban came to power, the situation in Afghanistan has markedly deteriorated. Although the fighting has significantly reduced, targeted attacks remain commonplace, checkpoints still line the roads, landmines still kill and injure civilians, and reports of enforced disappearances, unlawful detentions and extrajudicial killings continue to emerge. The environment remains tense, but on top of that, what was already a severe humanitarian crisis has become even more acute.

Mission Statement
The situation in Yemen is dramatic, the worst humanitarian crisis according to UN, hundreds of thousands of children suffer from life-threatening malnutrition. Together with the Yemeni pediatrician Ashwaq Moharram we run a malnutrition clinic in Hudaida. We want to send “mobile clinics” for malnourished children to the remote villages where the need is even bigger.
Every 10 minutes a child dies in Yemen from preventable diseases or malnutrition.
Miss Dr. Despite the war, Moharram, a Yemeni pediatrician, provides countless malnourished children with urgently needed nourishment. She also helps in remote
rural areas where the need is particularly great.
SOS Yemen helps Dr. help Moharram. Because the direct actions of local people seem particularly worth supporting - they usually know best where help is most urgently needed and so even small donations have a direct impact.
The SOS Yemen initiative was founded with a first fundraiser. Since then we have been in regular contact with Dr. Moharram and support them. In 2021 we founded the association.

Thanks to European Union funding, INTERSOS provided health and protection services in Ninewa and Salah Al Din Governorates of Iraq from May 1st 2021 until May 31st, 2023. The intervention aimed to address the basic humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable populations in Baaj and Rabia districts (Ninewa governorate) and Samarra district (Salah Al Din governorate).
Acknowledging that the issues faced by girls, boys, women and men are interlinked and that health concerns can be the consequence of protection issues (or vice-versa), INTERSOS designed an integrated health and protection response to address such complex needs. To serve the most remote and vulnerable villages, protection and health services were provided through 4 mobile units able to reach far and hard to reach areas.

Hope for Haiti’s mission is to improve the lives of the Haitian people, particularly women and children.
Today, the majority of Haitian children lack access to quality education. Schools in Haiti face challenges in funding, teacher training, and student achievement. These challenges make it exponentially more difficult for generations of Haitian children to break out of the cycle of poverty and achieve economic and social progress.
Haiti reports some of the world’s worst health indicators, which continue to inhibit the country’s development. More than 40 percent of the population lack access to essential health and nutrition services, and Haiti has the highest rates of infant, under-five and maternal mortality in the Western Hemisphere.

ince mid-April, fighting between Sudanese Armed Forces and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has continued in Khartoum, with clashes occurring in Darfur and several other areas in Sudan. Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands have been injured.
Violence and a lack of basic necessities have forced many from their homes. Currently, an estimated 700,000 people have been displaced by violence and internal conflict in the past few weeks, adding to the 3.7 million who had already been internally displaced within the country before the conflict began.

Oxfam works with communities to recover and rebuild after February’s devastating earthquakes.
When two powerful earthquakes devastated large parts of southern Türkiye (Turkey) and northern Syria in February, it was the people in the affected communities, as always, who were the first responders.
Among them is a confident and warm young woman, Özge Sağaltici, 31, who was at home that terrible day in Gaziantep, where she works for Oxfam KEDV (Oxfam’s affiliate in Türkiye). She and her sister were OK, but she was gravely concerned for her parents who live in the province of Hatay, about a three-hour drive away.
